A Canadian based mining company provided Dello Ventilation with a Mine Design for a Greenfield project. At first, the design criteria were defined to ensure compliance with local regulations, corporate standards and to ensure health and safety of the workers. The equipment list was used to determine the fresh airflow requirements. Then using the Ventsim software, different ventilation design options with pros and cons for each design were presented. A design was selected based on the needs of the client with respect to their CAPEX and OPEX objective as well as their mine plan.
Once selected, a more detailed analysis was performed to provide the client with a narrative and diagrams of the ventilation design for the different stages of the project including ramp development through LOM.
Based on the design and mine plan, the list of infrastructure over time was provided to the client with its associated CAPEX and OPEX using quotes from suppliers and energy prices.
All equipment specifications such as main fans, underground auxiliary fans, doors & airflow regulators were provided.
The ventilation system included a state-of-the-art Ventilation-On-Demand (VOD) system to optimize the energy usage and minimize OPEX.
An operating potash mine experienced elevated temperatures and humidity at the working face. An onsite visit was performed to determine the main sources of heat and potential mitigation solutions.
Based on the field data; the heat sources were defined and subsequently added to the Ventilation model to evaluate different solutions including increasing the flow rate at the face and the cooling plant capacity. Economical solutions were provided to the client which are currently being tested for full mine implementation.
A hard rock mine wanted to understand the impact on its ventilation system CAPEX and OPEX if they were to use BEV vehicles instead of Diesel.
Different analysis were undertaken to understand:
Taking these different parameters into consideration, a revised Mine Ventilation design with its associated CAPEX and OPEX was provided to the mine so that they can make a sound decision on the fleet.
